Government also selected the photonics industry as the frontier industry in the 21st century, established the extensive investment plans for it and especially, has progressed the systematic preparations for nurturing Kwangju city as the integrated complex of photonics industry. Under such an active support of government, The Korea Association for Photonics Industry Development was established as the private agency, which will perform the international technical exchanges, cooperative project, domestic and overseas publicity and technical R&D projects in order to seek the common profits of photonics related industries.
