  • Profile: Asan factory was established in July, 1988, with the aim of providing graphic arts films to global markets. The factory, formerly named as "Hyup-jin Chemical" was formed by Dr. Noh and 7 alumni of Seoul National University. At its founding, the company pioneered daylight contact films with their own technology in Korea. During its initial stage, the company started with a limites level of production capacity that can provide day-light contact film, mainly toward to domestic market. In the meantime, the company focused its resources on R&D efforts for commercializing next generation films, digital scanner film, with compatible prices. In addition, the company succeeded in developing value-added technology including X-ray film, MRI film and multi-media products manufacturing skills. In 2002, a factory was acquired by ASAN Film Industry, Inc., for generating synergy effects though combining ASAN's marketing and financing capability and the factory's manufacturing know-how and R&D capability. Through cost-effective investment, ASAN is expanding its mass production capacity and is ready to ship its quality products to the most advanced countries. The company has developed and applied for patents on core technologies to manufacture high quality photographic films economically. We are engaged in ongoing R&D efforts to stay ahead of competitors and to maintain a competitive edge. The photographic film industry has long been dominated by leading big manufacturers in the U.S., Germany and Japan. As a relatively small but strong and innovative manufacturer, our efforts are concentrated on reducing our production costs and providing our customers with various favorable terms and prompt and effective delivery.
